Jasper, AB skiing trip

January 26, 2010

Hey everybody!

Giving you an update on our trip...

It was pretty awesome! I had lots of fun. But, wow, did we leave way too early! I was pretty tired. The skiing itself was spectacular. The weather was warm and the snow was good.

I loved it when I was on the chair lift way up high and I looked behind and all around. You could see all the distant scenery and the mountains from miles away. It was beautiful.

I found the skiing hills high. It was an awesome day of great fun and exercise. I would love to do it again any day. I fell a lot at first (haha), but who didn't??

So to conclude, MCS should totally do this trip again. What could be a better field trip than Jasper?

So, I'm out... peace.Laughing

We went curling at the arena on Monday at 9:00. When we got there, we put on sliders and got our brooms ready and cleaned our shoes. Then we got warmed up and got on the ice slowly. The instructors taught us how to slide the rocks. Then we played for an hour and had tons of fun. ~ Daniel Tait

Monday was the first time that I had ever been curling. I'm not really sure what I had expected, but whatever it was, I got it. Curling is a really fun sport, but if you don't know what you're doing, it can be very painful. Although I had lots of bruises after, it was extremely fun; and for me, the best part was falling. All in all, I think everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves. ~Raelyn Mills-Meunier

Curling was awesome. This is the first time I tried it. The instructors were really nice and helpful. They made it easy on our first time out. We learned how to slide out of the hack and how to slide along the ice. Now I love curling! ~ Sarah-Arlene Cluett

A few days ago for gym class, we went to the public skating/curling arena and learned how to curl. It was the first time for most of us, including me. The people there were very friendly and very helpful. They taught us how to properly curl and the terminology of everything, from the hack to the hog line to the house (all different things on a curling lane). It was so much fun and I'm actually pretty good at it; sweeping is probably the hardest part of the game because you have to keep up with the rock, watch your footing, and sweep all at the same time, but its still pretty fun to do. Overall, I had a great time at the curling arena and I'm looking forward to going back and learning some more. ~ Joshua Lane
